What is Verstegen’s Movement Prep and why should we use it?: A very short guide


The purpose of Movement Prep:

• Actively elongate the muscles

• Improve balance and proprioception

• Increase mobility, stability, flexibility and strength

• Establishes and maintains the ability to perform functional whole body movements

• We are preparing the body for movement.


Session: 5-10 minutes, 5-10 reps of each exercise and 1-2 second holds

- Hip Crossover

- Scorpion

- Calf Stretch

- Inch worm

- Inverted Hamstring

- Forward Lunge/Forearm to Instep

- Backward Lunge

- Drop Lunge

- Lateral Lunge
